Blogging: What on Earth do I Write About?

Blogging is great but for many, it's confusing and let's face it, just another thing you have to manage. I find though that when I'm coaching authors on their blog strategy often the only hitch is what they should blog about. Once they have that down, blogging doesn't seem to be too terribly difficult. So here are a few ideas, a few things you can blog on right now:
- Talk about trends
- Review other books
- Blog "in character"
- Develop your next story on your blog (this is fun for micro-blogging too)
- Lend your "voice" to a hot issue
- Comment or feature other blogs
- Interview people in your industry
- Talk about the elephant in the room
- Be the "voice" for your company, speak to your consumer instead of at them
- Answer reader or consumer FAQ's
- Post pictures of your readers or consumers reading your book, using your product, etc.
